If your a crafter, want to start doing crafty activities or just so happen to know someone who loves crafts. You’ll defiantly want to check out the Kinkajou, this gadget is a cool way to turn those empty beer or wine bottles into something useful. So be creative and you’ll discover new ways to turn your trash into art, useful items around the house or some cute gifts. Like for this holiday season collect your family/friends favorite drinks and for an inexpensive gift create a drinking glass set. Or for those into gardening create some little plant terrariums. There’s literally so much you can do and if for some reason you do run out of ideas, just visit the Kinkajou website for more project ideas.
How does the Kinkajou work? Well its a bottle cutter that scores a line around the bottle where you wish to cut. Then using boiling water to pour around the score line, then pour with cold water and repeat. It should only take 1-2 cycles to separate the glass. Next sand with wet sand paper to smooth out your new glass.
The Kinkajou does however take time and practice to get the hang of. As a first timer I’ve cut multiple glasses where I added to much or to little pressure and my score line doesn’t line up evenly with my starting point. Or my water used isn’t hot or cold enough so it takes a couple of cycles for the glass to break. Or the glass doesn’t want to corporate at all and cracks away from your score line. Just don’t give up, once you get the hang of the process & how the Kinkajou works you’ll be on your way to creating some pretty cool projects.
